The Alpin A4 ZP is Michelin’s Performance Winter / Snow tire designed to provide temporary self-supporting run-flat mobility in the case of complete air loss due to a puncture while driving. The Alpin A4 ZP was developed for the drivers of sports cars, performance sedans and sporty coupes who expect to encounter freezing temperatures, snow and ice. Alpin A4 ZP tires are designed to deliver secure driving year after year in cold, wet and wintry conditions.
Michelin Alpin A4 ZP tires meet Michelin’s Green X standard* for eco-focused manufacturing and low rolling resistance, and confirms the tire’s contribution to reducing vehicle fuel consumption, emission of CO2 gases and improving sustainability through conservation of natural resources.
Alpin A4 ZP tires feature a full silica-based, sunflower oil-enriched Helio Compound tread rubber that remains more flexible in low temperatures for better traction in cold conditions. This compound is molded into a symmetric tread design featuring wide lateral grooves to help evacuate water and slush from the footprint. Michelin’s StabiliGrip 3D sipe technology provides rigidity for better handling and braking while still providing the biting edges needed for traction in slippery conditions.
The tire’s internal structure features a two-ply rayon casing supporting two wide, steel belts. A polyamide reinforcement above the steel belts aids handling response and provides high-speed durability, and low-hysteresis sidewall inserts are designed to temporarily support the weight of the vehicle, even after a loss of air pressure.
Alpin A4 ZP winter radials meet the industry’s severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
Note: Snow platform indicators (the equivalent of “snow wear bars”) are molded into the Alpin A4 ZP’s tread grooves to inform the driver when ice and snow traction will be reduced as the tire’s tread reaches the point where the remaining tread depth becomes less effective in deep snow.
Install Alpin A4 ZP tires in sets of four only.
Vehicles should always be equipped with equivalent tires at all wheel positions. These winter / snow tires, due to their exceptional snow and ice traction provided by their unique tread compounds, must be used in sets of four to help ensure proper vehicle control.
