The Cinturato P7 Run Flat tires featuring H- and V-speed ratings are Pirelli’s High Performance Summer run-flat tire developed for the drivers of sport coupes, sedans and crossover vehicles. Cinturato P7 Run Flat tires feature Pirelli”s Self-Supporting Run Flat Technology that enhances safety and convenience by providing temporary extended mobility in the event a puncture allows complete loss of air pressure. Pirelli’s Self-Supporting Run Flat Technology allows tires to literally “run flat” for up to 50 miles at 50 mph (80 km at 80 km/h) unless otherwise specified by the vehicle manufacturer for Original Equipment tires. Pirelli’s warranty does not cover tires that develop compound cracking due to use in ambient temperatures below 45° Fahrenheit (7° Celsius), so the Cinturato P7 Run Flat tires, like all summer tires, are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

The Cinturato P7 Run Flat uses a low rolling resistance tread compound that features technologically advanced polymers to increase grip on wet and dry roads while it reduces vehicle fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread design that promotes even wear, improves ride comfort and reduces noise levels. A robust shoulder and continuous ribs on the outboard portion of the tire enhance lateral grip on dry roads while four circumferential channels provide efficient expulsion of water from the contact patch to enhance hydroplaning resistance and wet traction. The tire’s internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by nylon cap plies to provide high speed-durability.   1. Unable to locate the Pirelli Asymmetricos, I went with a pair of these tires for the front of my Jag XK8. Compared to the asymmetricos, they are not very good. Traction and steering responsiveness are adequate, I suppose, but not nimble like the asymeetricos. But where these tires really fall down is noise. The car was aligned when the tires were installed, so the noise is not an alignment problem. As I have now found the asymmetricos on this website, I plan on replacing the P7’s immediately. My advice: spring for the extra money and get the asymmetricos. The difference is impressive. I own 4 jaguars, a range rover, and an audi. The xk8 is my weekend play car. The P7s took a lot of the joy out of driving it.

  2. These are the oem runflats delivered on my Mini Coutryman S All4. While I’ll never purchase runflat tires again, I did pick up a screw in the sidewall of one tire while vacation driving Highway 1 nearly 10,000 miles ago and it never caused an issue and is still in the tire. The front tires were nearly worn down at 12,400 miles and the rears have faired better at half tread left. Regarding HANDLING (which should be a criteria above): I can’t stand these tires in town. They are jarring, unforgiving, and bounce my Mini around from imperfection to imperfection. They are tolerable on an asphalt highway (great cornering), but seams in the concrete pavement were nearly unsafe from unpredictable angle correction at higher speeds. They have been louder than a brand new set of snow tires (blizzak ws-70). These runflats did just ‘ok’ in hydroplane conditions of standing water on I-80 in Parley’s Canyon. I also ran them through very light snow and slush conditions last April when the car was delivered brand new and winter was on its way out and again, they survived. After winter they WON’T be going back on my car.

  3. Only 18,000 miles or 30,000 kilometres. Tires are OEM and were originally installed with nitrogen. The air pressure has never been adjusted. Both front tire outside edges are scalloped and the centre rib on both rears are worn down to the wear bars. They are the worst tires I have ever had on a vehicle and will never buy Pirelli tires again.

  4. I recently replaced the tires on my MINI Cooper Countryman with the same tires as the originals after 40,000 hard miles. These tires never disappointed, and this is the first time since I first started driving MINIs in 2003 that I have replaced the stock runflats with new runflats. The traction on these tires was excellent right up until the last few hundred miles. Even though I drove them to the point of being nearly racing slicks my car still handled wonderfully. I did push it too far, and had the tread separate on one of my rear tires while driving on a winding road. I only knew something was wrong because the TPMS gave me a low pressure warning. There was no loss of control, and the tire held up until I limped to the bottom of the hill to get to parking lot to call for a tow. Definitely the best tire for the money in this class that I have ever had.

  5. These Pirelli P7s were o.e. on our ’14 328i xDrive Sport Wagon. Our first experience with run flats and despite all the negative opinions about ride quality, these new generation run flats do not have objectionable ride quality. They are firm riding but definitely NOT harsh as may have been the case with earlier first generation run flats. We have been happy with their performance to date and wear has been minimal. On certain pavement types, most notably concrete, they are a bit noisier than we’d prefer at highway speeds. As our lease will require turn-in with run flats, suspect we will replace them with like kind but we’ll see what our BMW “*” run flat options are in a couple of years.
