High Performance Summer tires are for drivers who want a combination of a sporty appearance, predictable handling and H- or V-speed rated durability along with dry and wet traction. Often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on sports cars, sporty coupes and performance sedans, High Performance Summer tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

O.E. High Performance Summer tiresare typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle’s original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications incomplete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires’ performance category andspecifications.

  1. The MX-5 only has 300 miles and no experience on wet roads yet. Between the suspension and tires, this car is glued to the road. The ride is smooth with little tire noise at highway speeds.

  2. Worst tire Ive ever had. Is fitted as OEM on European Mazda MX-5. Although I have a spirited driving style, after 30000 miles threadwear is still 50%. Tire is too hard, doesnt stick to the ground, and even worse during wet weather conditions (which we have enough in Belgium). General: not recommended for a sportscar. Threadwear is very good.

  3. Tires now have over 22000 miles. Getting noiser and balder by the day. Tires still stick pretty well. Ive had Miatas since 1992 and I usually get at least 28000 miles. Ill be trying Genral UHPs next time. If anything gives me more than 30000 miles Ill be happy.

  4. These are the same tires as stock and the car simple “feels right” with them. Good cornering; can induce oversteer with the throttle, and control it pretty easily. I’ve gone to dedicated winter tires, so may get something less winter friendly for the other 3 seasons.

  5. Nice OEM tire. It was a good choice my Mazda to make these the OEM tire. They really make the car hug the corners. The wear is above average and even. I rotate every 3000 miles. When I polish I do the inside of the rims so they’re off the care anyway. This has helped them to wear flat. No feathering at all. Quiet for a performance tire, too. Not sure if I could find a better tire to replace them with so I may just replace them with the same. So far I’m happy with them so it would not be an issue replacing with the same tire.
